2020 Toyota Highlander

The 2020 Toyota Highlander has nine different trim levels: L, LE, Hybrid LE, XLE, Hybrid XLE, Limited, Hybrid Limited, Platinum, and Hybrid Platinum. No matter which trim you select, you'll drive away with a stylish, bold, and refined SUV. This is a vehicle that looks powerful on the road, in part thanks to the 20-inch wheels available on Limited and Platinum trims and LED headlights available on all trims.

The Highlander features a 3.5-liter V-6 engine with an eight-speed automatic transmission that generates 295 horsepower and 263 pound-feet of torque on either front- or all-wheel drive. The Hybrid trim levels come with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, two electric motors, and a continuously variable transmission (CVT) that combine to produce 243 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque. The non-hybrid trims come with a maximum towing capacity of 5,000 pounds.

The 2020 Toyota Highlander features different drive modes so drivers can select how their vehicle operates in certain conditions and over specific terrains. The drive modes include Sport, ECO, and Normal. Combined with Multi-Terrain Select driving on all-wheel-drive models, you can customize your ride as you see fit. Hybrid models have Normal, ECO, Sport, Trail, and EV drive modes. The Highlander is built on Toyota's New Global Architecture platform, which helps contribute to a smooth ride and quiet cabin so you and your passengers can enjoy the drive.

Although most trim levels come with an eight-seat configuration, with bench seating in the second and third rows, higher trim levels offer second-row Captain's chairs as an available option, which provides seven seats, but even more room for those in the second row. In addition to occupant space, there are other available creature comforts in the Highlander, including heated and ventilated front seats and a panoramic moonroof. The technology in the interior of the Highlander will excite any driver. Standard on most trims is an 8-inch infotainment touch screen that integrates with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto so you can stay connected to your favorite people and apps while traveling. The Limited and Platinum trim levels come with an impressive 12.3-inch display. Available on all Highlander models is Wi-Fi, so your vehicle is a hotspot for 4G connectivity, USB ports throughout the vehicle, a digital rearview mirror for an improved field of vision behind your SUV, and dynamic navigation.

Safety is no stranger to Toyota models, including the Highlander. On this SUV, you'll have standard safety features that include a pre-collision system with low-light pedestrian detection, full-speed range dynamic radar cruise control, lane departure alert with steering assist, lane tracing assist, and automatic high beams, all of which are part of the Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 (TSS 2.0) system. The road sign assist system uses a front camera to detect and interpret road signs, including those for speed limits, stop, yield, and do not enter, and then displays them for you on your multi-informational display.
